statement: "Pulse", an immersive video installation, explores spontaneous encounters with the natural world. Sustained associations build from hundreds of fragments- acts of incidental witnessing that are unrehearsed, stumbled upon, and fleeting. 50 minutes long, it can be viewed for any length of time, at any starting point, but its effect builds. Primary elements- wood, water, fire, smoke, horse, bird, grass- combine and recombine in rhythmic, recurring motifs that examine the connections and spaces between perception, recollection, and narrative association. Museum award for “Immersive Space”

‘The "Commendation for an Outstanding Exhibition" award was bestowed for the exhibition, "Immersive Space," curated by Alyssa Fridgen at the Alexandria Museum of Art in Louisiana. "Immersive Space" featured a series of entire-room installations by three Louisiana artists, Lee Deigaard, Shawn Hall, and Colin O'Con exploring created space and inviting contemplation about our relationship with nature, taking cues from the surrounding environment, an immersive environment where emotional space and physical landscape merge. The award was presented at the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) annual meeting in Savannah, Georgia.
